Miranda Lambert Breaks Record for Most CMA Nominations
Miranda Lambert has set a new record for the most Career CMA Award nominations in the history of the Country Music Association, surpassing the previous mark held by George Strait. With her latest round of nominations, Lambert now has a total of 68 career CMA nominations across categories including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and the coveted Entertainer of the Year.
The achievement reflects Lambert's remarkable consistency over a career that began with her appearance on Nashville Star in 2003 and has included hits like The House That Built Me, Gunpowder and Lead, and Bluebird. She has won 14 CMA Awards to date, including a record-setting seven consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year wins from 2010 through 2016. Her latest album received nominations in four categories.
Lambert responded to the record on social media, thanking her fans, her band, and the songwriters who have contributed to her catalog over the years. She singled out her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, for his support and her father, Rick Lambert, a former private investigator turned songwriter, for instilling in her a love of storytelling. The Texas native has been vocal about staying true to traditional country values while evolving as an artist.
CMA executives praised Lambert's contributions to the genre, noting that her nominations span nearly every major category over two decades. The CMA Awards ceremony, scheduled for November at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, is expected to draw heightened attention given Lambert's historic achievement. Betting odds from entertainment prediction markets currently list Lambert as a favorite in multiple categories.
