Taylor Swift Rocks The BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards (With Video)

Taylor Swift was in London this past weekend to perform at the BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards Show. Taylor performed her hit "Love Story" plus two new songs from Speak Now, "Mine" and "Speak Now."

"I think that an event like this really encourages teens that they can change the world and they can make a difference," Swift said. "It's wonderful to see so many vibrant, passionate people here who just happen to be young."

As the video below shows, Taylor Mania is not just limited to the United States. She may be a country artist, but she is truly a rock star in the making.

Taylor Swift - Allure December Cover

Taylor Swift will grace the December issue of Allure, which will hit newsstands November 23.

Swift was photographed by Michael Thompson at Studio Berry Hill in Nashville. The inspiration for the shoot was the Cacharel fragrance ads by Sarah Moon in the late '70s.

In the makeup chair, Swift called her previous Allure cover, from April 2009, her favorite magazine cover to date. She said that it marked the first time she had worn red lipstick, now one of her beauty staples.

During the shoot Taylor shared stories of writing the songs for Speak Now:

I'm typically single a lot, I have a phobia about being in the wrong relationship, so as soon as I establish it's not the right one I don't want to waste their time.

Taylor Swift Holds Top Spot As Jason Aldean's New Album Hits Number Two

You have to feel a little bad for Jason Aldean because his album just happened to hit the week after Taylor Swift's Speak Now just crushed the album charts. Aldean's new album, titled My Kinda Party, debuted with strong numbers, selling 192,973 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was not good enough though to topple Taylor, who sold another 318,701 copies of Speak Now. Bringing the total up to approximately 1,366,000. units sold.

Swift and Aldean also rank Number 1 and Number 2 on the Billboard 200 list, which includes all music genres. Sugarland comes in Number 3 on the list with their new release The Incredible Machine. So much for that country music not being popular thing. The top three releases are all in the country music camp!

Looking at the country songs chart we see the Zac Brown Band's song "As She's Walking Away," which features Alan Jackson, moves up from number 4 to number 1. I guess the CMA performance of the song paid off!

The E! Entertainment Special: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift Opens Up To E! in the "E! Entertainment Special: Taylor Swift" with a 1 hour special airing December 1, 2010.

The E! Entertainment Special: Taylor Swift also examines the singer's private life. Swift's determination was clear from early on as by the age of eleven, she and her mother, Andrea, were regularly traveling to Nashville where she would march into the record labels handing out demos to try and get a record deal.

Swift has built a career on writing her own stories and intimate details into her songs. The E! Special features an exclusive sit-down interview with Stephen Barker Liles, a country artist who toured with Swift and later became the focus of the song, Hey Stephen. Also examined in special is the now infamous VMA Awards show where Swift's acceptance speech was hijacked by Kanye West. Tim McGraw recalls, "My first impression is you wanna go kick his ass." Adds McGraw, "She's gonna have a long career. She's gonna do fine writing about the rest of her life."

When talking about her latest album, Speak Now, Swift says,

Taylor Swift Banks $45 Million In 12 Months, Says Forbes Magazine

It was a very good year to be Taylor Swift! According to Forbes Magazine, Taylor earned an estimated cool $45 million between June 1, 2009 and June 1, 2010, placing her ninth on the publications list of the top 10 earning women in Hollywood. I didn't know Taylor had GONE Hollywood, but I guess it works for comparison here.

Most interesting to me was the fact that Taylor was tied on the list with Judge Judy Scheindlin! Way to go Judge Judy! The estimates for the article were compiled by consulting with agents, managers, producers and lawyers.

Oprah Winfrey led the list with $315 million in earnings, followed by Beyoncé Knowles ($87 million), Britney Spears ($64 million), Lady Gaga ($62 million), Madonna ($58 million), Sandra Bullock ($56 million), Ellen DeGeneres ($55 million) and Miley Cyrus ($48 million).

The Best And Worst Of The 2010 CMA Awards Performances

Last night the stars came out in Nashville for what is billed as Country's Biggest Night at the 44th Annual CMA Awards. Overall, they put on an entertaining show with some great performances, but there were also some that missed the mark a bit.

Carrie Underwood opened up the show on a high note, belting out her hit "Songs Like This" with Brad Paisley on guitar and Keith Urban on banjo. The song set a nice pace for the evening and flowed well into Carrie and Brad doing their opening dialog talking about, and joking about, the happenings of 2010. The pair has some great chemistry and really do a good job with their hosting duties.

My two favorite performances of the night came from Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift. Miranda did her best to channel the spirit of the Ramones during her performance of "That's The Way The World Goes Round," but yet still came through with that strong country twang and charm that she has. The song just absolutely rocks in a good way.

Taylor Swift Wins Country Songwriter Of The Year

There's just no stopping Taylor Swift. Last night at the BMI Songwriters Awards Taylor won the Country Songwriter of the Year award, becoming the youngest person ever to claim it. And she and co-writer Liz Rose shared Country Song of the Year for “You Belong With Me,” recognized as the most-played country title over a full year, according to the performing rights organization.

Taylor has had an emotional week as the day before she had just sang at a friends funeral.

“It’s been a really emotional week,” she told the crowd. “He was 21, and I used to play my songs for him first. So I would like to thank Jeff Lang.”

Other awards of the evening went to songwriters and music publishers to honor significant airplay for such titles as “Cowboy Casanova,” “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” “Big Green Tractor,” “American Ride,” “One In Every Crowd” and “White Liar.”
